The K-Drill Story

The owners of K-Drill are proudly Kalgoorlie born and bred, and knew they wanted to incorporate the Kalgoorlie story and values into the DNA of their company.

The K in K-Drill comes from the branding of the iconic Kalgoorlie Brewing Company, the last survivor of nineteen breweries that once traded in the Goldfields. The K-Drill owners sought permission from the current trademark holder of Hannan's Lager to use the famous 'K' in their logo, who gave it his blessing.

Kalgoorlie is synonymous with innovation, honesty and hard work, and this was a little tip of the hat to the heritage of one of Western Australia's most iconic towns.

K-Drill was founded in 2021 when we acquired Swick’s Surface RC division, starting with one contract, four RC rigs and 40 people. Today, we’ve grown to a 12-rig fleet, 80+ employees, and dual hubs in Perth and Kalgoorlie — spanning RC, surface diamond and underground drilling.

But growth isn’t how we measure success. Reputation is. Our business is built on referrals, repeat work and long-term relationships, because clients know we deliver metres that matter — safely, consistently, and with no surprises.
