Safety and ESG Commitments

Safety

Safety is central to how we work.

K-Drill holds an LTIFR of 0.0, with a Zero Harm culture that guides every shift. Crews are supported by accredited leaders and integrated systems, including SiteDocs, CorePlan and Krux, which provide real-time reporting and accountability.

Training pathways and ongoing refreshers ensure skills stay sharp and safety is consistent across all programs.

Our fleet of rigs utilises hands-free rod handlers, and our rig design allows the driller to operate the rod handler from the drill platform.

We subscribe to digital vehicle tracking, and all K-Drill staff are signed up to the nationally accredited drilling qualifications. We entrust the services of a third-party registered training operator (RTO) for verification of competency (VOC) on-site sign-offs.

We utilise a best-in-class app for fully digital training and compliance, and adhere to a ‘speak up’ reporting culture - our team are open and honest, and we encourage that throughout all operators within the organisation.

Our Responsibility

Our responsibility extends beyond compliance - it’s how we measure ourselves as a WA-owned, founder-led contractor.

  • Indigenous Engagement
We actively work with Traditional Owners and Indigenous-owned businesses across WA. More than 10% of our field crews are Indigenous, and we are committed to growing that figure through recruitment, training and mentoring. These partnerships ensure that the benefits of resource development flow back into local communities, creating opportunities that last well beyond the drill program.

  • Diversity and Inclusion
K-Drill recruits and promotes based on performance and potential, not personal attributes. Our workforce spans a mix of ages, cultures and backgrounds, and we actively foster an inclusive culture built on accountability and respect. By backing people for their skills and contribution, we strengthen teamwork and performance across every site.

  • Community and Industry
We back the regions where we work. That means supporting grassroots charities, sponsoring local initiatives, and training the next generation of drillers. We currently mentor a WASM student in leadership and field operations, helping to build industry capability and strengthen the pipeline of skilled drillers for WA’s future.

  • Environmental Care
We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint. This includes fuel-efficiency programs, proactive rig maintenance to reduce emissions, spill-prevention protocols, and waste-reduction measures across projects. These actions lower environmental risk for clients and support compliance with ESG reporting standards.

  • Governance and Ethical Conduct
Integrity is built into every metre we drill. As a founder-led business, accountability sits with us. We maintain strict governance over safety, compliance and subcontractor management, with zero tolerance for misconduct or shortcuts. Transparency is the standard — clients know exactly what they’re getting and how it’s delivered.
